· Swedish massage In the early 1800s originated
in Sweden. It includes using oils and during treatment, manipulating the
superficial layers of muscles and even joints. It's the most popular type of
massage, maybe.
· Shiatsu is a popular method of massage therapy
in Japan. In shiatsu, instead of a table, a mat on the floor is used and
pressure points are used to relax the skin and nerves.
· Sports and orthopedic massage are procedures
for the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions arising from both sport and
physical labor. It is primarily intended to help the body be better prepared
for sports-related events and to recover from them.
· Deep tissue massage aims at minimizing
discomfort in the body's deep tissues. Since the therapist is working to make
the connective tissue and muscles more pliable under the top layer, in the days
following the session, the client can find bruises appearing.
· In order to stretch muscles and connective
tissues, soft tissue release is the process of applying gliding pressure.
Therapists enable customers to restore normal muscle usage and range of motion
by working to gently elongate muscles.
· Myofascial release is used to stretch the soft
tissues of the body and lengthen them. Gentle stretches, often repeatedly, are
used and held with pressure before relief is felt. For scar tissue and
attachments, this method is particularly useful.
There are of course, other types of massage therapy taught
in schools; some of the more common modalities and approaches to massage
therapy are simply those mentioned above.
Some Massage Therapy
Types
There are other activities that are often sometimes used for
clinical use as massage therapy is concerned with whole body health,
rehabilitation, and wellness. In order to achieve beneficial effects, many of
these include activating particular pressure and nerve points on the body.
· Reiki is the practise of using healing energy
that comes through the palms to control the physical and spiritual well-being
of another person. There are debates about the efficacy of this practice, but
in some circles, it is still becoming increasingly widespread.
· Another common treatment is hot stone massages.
Big, smooth stones are heated and used both to massage the customer and to rest
on the flesh, intensely heating it.
· In order to achieve beneficial outcomes,
reflexology utilizes the awareness that nerves are interconnected throughout
the body. Pressure points on the body especially the hands and feet, are
present where nerves linked to other places on the body meet. Effects are seen
in the places where the nerves bind, by using pressure at these sites.
· Acupressure is equivalent to reflexology in that
it utilizes pressure on nerve points to provide the body with pain relief and
health benefits. However, it is performed in the body and is often used to
alleviate discomfort, improve circulation, and facilitate relaxation at some
points of the muscle as well as nerve points.
